So let's talk about the Vudu 1-10. We're not gonna be talking specs, You can find those on the product page, the eye relief and the the pupil distance and all that stuff. Let's just talk about shooting the optic and why we chose this particular scope. So the 1-10 market has been pretty minimal. There haven't been a whole lot of options out there, but recently they've started to become, much better options on the market. The, the razor 1-10 came out a couple years ago. Uh, it was followed by the Vudu and I've also spent some time on the SIG 1-10. They got their little budget one and then the Leupold CQBSS 1-10, which is now, or 1.1-10, which is now discontinued. And as the technology has gotten better, if you are choosing an LPVO for the purpose of being able to engage at distance, going straight to a 1-10 makes a lot of sense.
If you wanna work front in that, you know, 6 power to 10 power area and actually be able to see further, see better, and be able to engage further a little bit better as well. So as much as I like running 1-6 and stuff like that, it really makes sense to get the Vudu 1-10 for a gun. It's only a little bit more expensive on this particular scope, it's a first focal plane optic. So essentially what that means is the radical changes in size as you zoom, but it also preserves your holds, whether you're shooting on 5x or on 10x, unlike a second focal plane optic. Now where a lot of one to tens get it wrong, in my opinion, is on 1x. There will be a very faint radical, which, so 1x is here, it'll be a really faint radical on 1x, so that when you magnified a 10, it's not super blocky and you know, fills your entire, you know, feel the view and then you can't accurately see what you're actually shooting at.
And then other scopes will prioritize, you know, the, the 10x with a very fine radical refined, you know, radical at 10x, but then when you go to 1x, you see nothing. kinda like the, the Schmidt & Bender Short Dot CC, one of the worst scopes I've ever used. For that reason alone, what I like about the Vudu 1-10 is it has a refined radical on 10x as you guys can see with all the, you know, wind holds and everything like that. But on 1x you have the outer circle, which helps draw your eye to the center, where the center is a refined sight, you know, radical because that's gonna zoom and magnify to 10x and allow you to engage, properly and have all your holds in the Christmas tree and everything like that. But the outer circle is really what makes or breaks the scope because it draws the attention to the center of the optic and allows you to shoot pretty fast on 1x. Now, the brightness on the scope, it is not, it's not a, a second foal plane, 1-6 razor type scope. It, it's not it's daylight brightish. It's good for low light shooting, but I do not rely on the illumination on the scope. In the day when it's sunny to take accurate and fast shots, uh, on 1x I'm just relying on that outer circle to draw my attention to the center. And then I'm taking that center little sight picture, that little like horse shoe, and I'm putting that on the target to actually shoot.
This is a pretty lightweight scope for what it is, 34 millimeter tube. So you do have to go get a 34 millimeter scope mount. It's really not a big issue, and then the battery compartment, you know, left side, the only, the only real downside to the scope that I found is the lack of parallax. Now that does mean the scope's a little bit cheaper, than if it had the parallax adjustment and it's adding more stuff into the scope. There have been a couple times where I've wanted the parallax adjustment to kind of push past some of the brush and stuff that's up close to me. But for the most part, I haven't had a whole lot of trouble with the lack of parallax on this particular optic. So if you're looking for an LPVO for a bowel rifle, you know, something like this, Daniel Defense gun or your 16 inch 5.56 gun and you're debating a one to six or going straight to like a 1-10, it's, it's hard not to just go with this scope, and go all the way to a 1-10, have a little bit more capability be able to move the scope over to a DMR if you buy one in the future and then you can run like an ACOG or something on your 5.56 gun.
So I'm really happy with this particular scope. I think it's a, a great move in the LPVO world. And yeah, I'm just real happy with it. If you have any other questions about this scope in particular or any of the scopes that we offer here at T.REX or other people's scopes under their websites for that matter go ahead and shoot us an email at team@trex-arms.com and we'll see what we can do to help.
