So this is the T.REX Raptor backer system, which I want to explain to you guys, its benefits and how to install it. I'm not going to go into a whole lot of details about the materials because those are the same as the T.REX Ironside backer. You can look at various T.REX media content about the Raptor backer and Ironside backer development process, but it is Alcantara, which is basically completely waterproof and wear-resistant, pressed around some closed cell foam, which is sturdy, soft, and comfortable. So the whole package is water-resistant, it's washable, it's soft, it's comfortable, and these holes make it breathable. And that's also how you mount it onto the Raptor.

Now, unlike the Ironside backer, which converts an outside the waistband Ironside holster into an inside the waistband 4 o'clock holster, this backer just goes on the back of the Raptor. So it's an inside the waistband holster that can be worn appendix. You can move it around. And this just adds a level of comfort to it. So it's pretty simple, it's pretty straightforward. And I wanted to show you guys, while it comes in the package perfectly flat, it will, after you wear it for a while, pick up some dust and some dirt from your armory tables, and it will actually begin to bend around the product. And this is actually a good thing. This is not the foam breaking down, but it is it kind of breaking in a little bit. And the more curved it gets, it actually improves the way that it wears and putting it on and off.

And it comes in slightly different sizes. So, for example, if you have a Glock 34 with X300, you actually need this to be long enough that it kind of wraps around the front here. That's where it gives you the most comfort. And when the foam is actually conforming a little bit to the shape there, you'll find that it is actually a little bit more comfortable. That's pretty simple to install as long as you do stuff in the right order. So the first thing that you want to do is put your posts into these holes along the site channel. This is the most fiddly part. If you have fat fingers like I do, it's a little bit tricky to get those in through the holes. But once you do, you put the washer on and now that's pretty secure.

If you have a smaller gun, you will find this a little bit harder to get in through this narrow site channel on this Smith & Wesson shield. But now we can work on the next part. That is the posts that go through the holes next to the claw. So let's remove these real quick. Now the claw on the Raptor can be mounted either on the front or the back, depending on how aggressively you want the grip tucked into you. It's totally a comfort thing. It's going to somewhat depend upon your body mechanics and your shape, but it's also going to kind of depend on your definition of comfort. Do you want physical comfort or do you want the psychological comfort of knowing that the gun is completely concealed and invisible?

Now we've got our posts here on the back, but what is very important is that we do these posts on the claw side first, because there are three different mounting holes for different size holsters on this side. You could memorize a complicated chart that would explain exactly which ones you should put where, or you can just do these first and see what lines up over here. Much simpler. Half inch screws go into these posts, and you might want to put your finger behind them just to stop them from spinning. I like a more aggressive grip tuck, so I'm going to put the claw on the front.

Half inch screws go in here. The posts that are on the pad, the backer itself, are longer simply because there's more material for them to get through. So you do want to use the ones that come with the backer and not the ones that were on the holster by itself. And there you have it. It's very securely fastened. It's very comfortable to wear. And if it does pick up dust and dirt and sweat and you want to wash it, it's pretty easy to take it off, clean it, and put it back on. I'm really happy with this product because the Raptor itself has a huge amount of adjustability and modularity to it, and this just gives you an extra layer of comfort. If that's something that helps you wear the holster more often, carry more often, then we've done our job. And I just appreciate how many different ways you can use this.

There's different sizes of hardware. They're gonna come with the backer, and if you get confused about which one goes where, it is all inside of the manual for easy reference. I also want to point out that the backer is ambidextrous. If you have a left-handed holster, even if you have multiple holsters for different friends and you want to try their backer out on your different holster, all you have to do is align it up with your left-handed holster and just reverse the way that these two posts are facing, and it will attach and work really well. There are three different sizes, essentially the 19 length, the 17 length, and the 34 length, which are the Glock slide lengths. Obviously, there's other guns in the world that aren't Glocks, but everything more or less fits into those Glock buckets. All of our holsters are going to fit into these different three sizes of backer.
