The T.REX ARMS SIP pouch is extremely straightforward. The SIP stands for Small Item Pouch, so anything that you could fit into this compartment, and then with a flap to retain the item, is what you're going to be carrying. There is a single row of molle webbing that we have sewed to the back of the pouch, so you can immediately run this on your chest rig or plate carrier or onto a belt immediately. We do this for a few reasons. One so we don't have to rely on the logistical issues of relying on another vendor with something like, say, a malice clip, but you don't necessarily have to use this. If you want to use a hard plastic clip such as the malice clip, you can obviously weave that on, chop this off, weave this behind, if this is what you prefer, but we just like to include something, so our products can be used right out of the box.
So there's one thing that makes this pouch a little bit different than some of the others on the market that utilize a flap, and that is that our flap can be completely removed. It can also be completely adjusted in the pouch. You can take this and run it all the way to the bottom or as far into the pouch as you can go. There is loop velcro sewn to the bottom. And then have a very small item stowed inside the pouch. Most of you are probably not going to do that. You're going to set it somewhere in the middle, and that's where you're going to run it. And there's a few reasons we did this. One, it's just a little more versatile on longer, larger, smaller products out there. In the future, you will have a submachine gun length flap that you can use to actually house a submachine gun magazine, such as this little AK 9mm pouch, where the flap's going to come all the way around and attach in the front, so you can use the same pouch for all kinds of different things. But another reason we have this is if you're interested in running a Kydex insert, like this Esstac KYWI, you can slot this in there as well. Then you can have that classic Kydex retention, if that is something that you are interested in for your standard pistol magazines.
The main purpose for this pouch is not necessarily to house pistol magazines, although that's absolutely something that you can do. The main purpose for us bringing this product to market is to have a small, one, molle-wide pouch that you can run on top of chest rigs, such as our TRAAP Chest Rig, such as the Quad Flap, or other future plate carrier products. The main thing that I'm using this pouch for is multi-tools, flashlights, Kestrels. If I want to run pistol mags on the front of my chest rig, for some reason, I can do that. And I am maintaining regular pistol magazine pouches on my belt, such as Mars carriers. But if you do want to run this on a belt, because you are building something out that can accommodate any sort of pistol magazine on the market, it does absolutely work. You could add the Esstac KYWI if you would like, so that you can have that Kydex retention. But having a flat means that any magazine you want to throw in there is going to function. So on this belt, we have two mounted here to the front, and they're good to go.
Now one thing you can do if you're not a huge fan of the molle that we have sewn onto here, and you may not be, is you can take a malice clip, and I highly recommend if you are going this direction, finding a plastic molle clip that is straight edge, and is flat like this traditional mouse clip, and not the new wavy. The new wavy clips on a single-cell pouch are going to wiggle back and forth. They're not super stable. When you have a larger pouch that's say three or four rows of molle wide, then they work pretty well. There's not a lot of movement. But on a single wide pouch, I would not recommend one of these guys right here. Instead, what you're going to do is I like to tuck my molle strap behind the molle, get it out of the way. So once you have that sewed behind, you are going to insert the malice clip anywhere you would like, but I would recommend positioning it so that the pouch rides all the way to the top.
And now I have adapted this pouch to run with a malice clip, which can be a little bit more stable, especially on a belt. Or if I just want to thread this onto my belt and have a nifty little Kestrel pouch when I'm doing all my long-range stuff. We have elastic here on the side to help give the pouch retention so it can stretch to conform to different products, such as a SureFire light. Good to go. That's not going anywhere. Leatherman Mutt. Definitely not going anywhere. I could adjust the flat two if I want. And then the Kestrel. The Kestrel will be a little bit of a tight fit, but it's really not a problem. And then I can tie this off to my body on my belt, put it in my pocket, wherever it happens to be, and I have a nice little Kestrel pouch. As far as how high the magazine sits in this pouch, I will demonstrate. This is a 15-round Glock magazine. That's what it looks like. 17. A plus three, Arredondo. And last but not least, a Glock with a plus five.
So now I'm going to show you guys how to molle one with the existing molle onto a product. So in this case, I have one of our TRAAP Chest Rigs. So this is really the perfect use case for this pouch. I'm going to be mounting this off to the left. So if I were doing a pistol reload from this chest rig, that's where I'm going to be grabbing from. Another solution that I really like is running them on either side. So on the front, I'll have it nice and slick so I can shoot in the prone position nicely. And then on the sides, I have a single pouch because I have enough room before I get to my three-cell GP (General Purpose) or three-cell medical pouches. So in this case, I can have my multi-tool and then over here, I can have a pistol mag or my Kestrel or something else. And it just allows me to carry some small items nicely. And the pouch sits nice and flat when I have nothing in it. So first thing we're going to do is we're going to weave it through the top.
Back into itself, as you do with molle, surprisingly, a lot of people get this wrong. Back into the molle on the chest rig. Back through onto itself. And then back through the molle on the chest rig. And then you're going to take this, you're going to run it up inside the last slot of molle on the pouch. And there you have it. The pouch is now mounted and you'll see that we sized the pouch to be as long as five rows of molly. So it's three because you're weaving back onto itself twice. So it sits really nicely on a product such as this chest rig. And then I can have my pistol mags if I want to run all my magazines. It's not necessarily the fastest speed reload pouch to get at, but that was not the intent with this product.
The intent with this product was to make something that could carry items very well so that you don't lose them and then run speed reload solutions on your belt or somewhere else. And this pouch can do a lot of different things. If you have any other questions about the SIP pouch or any of our other products and compatibility with them, go ahead and email us at team@trex-arms.com.
