There are a plethora of hydration bladders on the market, but the Source WXP 3-Liter is our favorite as it does a good job of safely storing water, preventing leaks, is easy to drink from, and comes with a variety of other luxuries right out of the box. The flow valve is a push-pull style with an integrated shut-off mechanism, making for nice water flow when you want it but prevents unwanted leaking. The valve can also rotate 360 degrees so it’s easy to orient towards your mouth without having to twist the tube.
The tube itself has a quick disconnect with an auto seal, so you can remove the hose altogether without leaks. This is useful for attaching filters and other accessories and can make it easier to insert into a pack.
The bladder reservoir can be filled via the wide top opening or the large NC Filler Cap which fits most standard hydration packs. It boasts a glass-like film with Grunge-Guard tech that inhibits bacterial growth even when exposed to the sun. It also retains a pure water taste instead of giving it that plastic taste. Plus it’s BPA and phthalate-free.
