You guys may not know this but firearm people can never agree on what the best handgun is. Obviously, it's a Glock 19 chambered in 9mm, but there's still people out there that think that it is .45 caliber or something made in Germany. There's even whippersnappers out there that are trying to tell you that 5.7 is somehow gonna be the future. Nobody can get any type of agreement across these things and knife guys are even weirder than gun guys. So I did not assume there was gonna be any kind of consensus about knives on the internet but it turns out, believe it or not, everybody kind of sort of agrees that the Spyderco Para Military 2 is kind of the best knife and I was skeptical. So six years ago, I bought one and the internet was right for once. This is possibly the best knife and so after beating this one up, treating it terribly, T.REX ARMS now sells Spyderco knives and even though this is the best one.

We sell three others as well. So I'm gonna walk through this suite right here and explain to you why we have what we have and why you should have, you know, at least one of these. So let's start with the Spyderco Para Military 2, which I would consider to be the Glock 19 of knives except even more universally accepted. So Spyderco makes this knife in Golden, Colorado and it has all of the Spyderco key features. This thumb hole right here is really great for ambidextrous opening, but you can also attach stuff to it. One of the beauties of having something that is as widely accepted as the Para Military 2 is there's a lot of aftermarket parts that are available for this thing.

So not only can you swap out the clips that you have here for different ones, I personally am running a more undercover clip. This allows it to ride deeper in my pocket, but they have these knives set up so that you can run the clip in any, pretty much any configuration. I have this one set up for left-handed carry just because oftentimes my right hand is busy, but you can set it up any way you want, tip up, tip down, and then there are those extra accessories. Some people customize these knives just for looks, but there are extra accessories.

For example, there's guys that make extra like holes for karambit style knife fighting and other things like that. You can also get little claws like the Emerson wave that clip onto your pocket so that you get an auto opening draw, but FYI you can also do that with just a little bit of a zip tie. So there's all kinds of ways that you can set these up for your own carry style, exactly how you want them. But the design of this knife, the ergonomics are just beautiful. The fact that you can get a really precise hold up really high on the blade like this, which is also secure, or you can come down here and have a little bit more reach and a little bit more leverage if you're cutting stiffer stuff.

All the ergonomics of this thing for all the grips are just really good. I can't tell you how much better this was than I even expected it to be after reading some reviews. So after using it for a long time, I'm really happy that we have this knife and it's kind of the only one that you could possibly need. However, we do have others. This is the Spyderco Para Military 3, which is almost exactly the same, except it's a little bit smaller. If this just looks a little bit too big for you, I won't pick on you too much if you go with this smaller knife here. The other reason that you could go for this knife is if you live in a place that has minimum or say, I forget exactly how they word this, but no knife blades over three inches.

This is 2.97 inches, so just squeaks under those local rules and regulations. If you live in a place that has those unconstitutional laws or you travel there a lot, the Para Military 3 is going to be a slightly better option for you. It has the same capabilities for upgrades. It's compatible with the same aftermarket clips, has the same lanyard hole, the same feel in ergonomics, just in a little smaller package with a little smaller blade.

Now, both of these knives that I mentioned are made in Golden, Colorado. The fit and finish are excellent. The quality is excellent. This next knife is a little bit interesting and that is the Tenacious. If you look at it, you see that it has a lot of the same Spyderco features and flair, but this knife is made in China. This is their budget knife and they've cut a couple of corners. This has a liner lock, so you open and close it by using this liner lock here, as many knives do. That's all right. I really do prefer the compression lock that you get on the Spyderco, the Para Military 2 and 3 and some of the other knives that they make in the States.

This compression lock lets you close the blade from behind, which is a little bit safer. I just find that a really good way to use a knife. Liner locks are time-tested, proven. This thing locks up well. It feels good. The quality of this knife is fine. There are some corners that have been cut, but they are less important things in certain ways. Instead of the G10, which is grippy and strong, this thing is going to be a fiber reinforced nylon. It's going to be injection molded. That thing is cheaper. That enables this knife to come in at considerably less than the American-made knives and still having a pretty high quality.

Here at T.REX, we really want to make sure that we're selling the best quality stuff, but we also want to make sure that there are affordable options for you. This is still an excellent knife with good solid ergonomics and a good steel with just a few corners cut. It's available for you at that much lower price. Then the last one that we have here is super tiny. It's also not made in the United States. The Dragonfly 2 is made in Japan.

This is kind of an interesting one. This is a specific steel. This is the VG10. This is a knife steel that I think is pretty common among fancy kitchen knives. I say I'm pretty sure because I don't actually pay that much attention to fancy kitchen knives, but the Japanese factory is where Spyderco makes most of their fancy kitchen knives and a few other other specialties. So if you want a really tiny knife that fits in a watch pocket, a shirt pocket, this is a really solid addition. You can't do quite all the ergonomic things, but it still is able to reach well, some arteries. So there you go. Across this particular lineup of knives that we have here, this one locks up in the back.

It's a spacious locks up with the liner lock. And then these have the very Spyderco specific compression lock that is really solid. All of the other technical details that you want to read about the specific knife steels and so forth are on there. But yeah, I'm really really excited that we are selling these because we're constantly looking for the best tools. And we like to choose those tools that we are excited about carrying and using ourselves.

And this is one of my favorite, it's actually one of my favorite things. I have a lot of knives that I like, but I always carry the Para Military 2. This thing has cut more drywall than pocket knives are supposed to. It's what happens when you buy a knife right before a house remodel. And it is held up really well. And the version that we're selling has an even better steel than what I have. This is the CPM S47VN and you just can't go wrong with this knife. This is actually, now that I think about this, it's more like the Glock 17 of knives. The Para Military 3 is the Glock 19 of knives. I only say that because it feels better than a Glock 26.

If you have questions about these four knives or the gazillion others that Spyderco makes and we don't carry, feel free to pester our customer service team, team@trex-arms.com. They would prefer to talk about these four knives though.
