Esstac KYWIs are simple folded Kydex retention devices. They rely on friction and tension to retain magazines instead of pull tabs or flaps, keeping the top of the pouch open and easily accessible. Because of their Kydex construction, they can be easily adjusted using heat, making them highly adaptable.
These specific Tall 5.56 Inserts are meant for use in our TRAAP Chest Rig or Medium Item Pouch (with minor trimming) and will not work in our T.REX KYWI Placard or Esstac Shorty Mag Pouches. See the complete compatibility list below.

- The hook field on the rear of the insert allows it to be used in most loop-lined mag pouches, placards, and chest rigs, like our TRAAP Chest Rig.
- Kydex construction allows for retention adjustment with the use of a heat gun or hair dryer.
